At Carter's 6 month appointment, his doctor gave him the go ahead to begin solids. We are to start with oatmeal for about 2 weeks and then move onto veggies and then onto fruits. A few nights ago we went ahead and tried giving him his first taste of oatmeal. What a funny experience. Carter seemed quite confused and didn't know quite what to think. He actually took to it pretty well at the beginning. We continued with several more bites thinking he was going to like it, but he soon let us know that he was not having it. Towards the end whenever we gave him a bite he would spit it out and scream, gag, and have a "I'm totally disgusted," look on his face.

The video below is of him eating before he went into a huge screaming fit.
First Attempt
Second Attempt
Well we have tried oatmeal again and believe that Carter maybe allergic to it. After both occasions he spit up all day long. The spitting up is nothing new for Carter, but it was 10x the amount than what he normally does. Also his cheeks and chin turned cherry red. So we're thinking of waiting a few days and just going straight to veggies. Hopefully he will better with that.
