Playtime

Recently Carter has discovered how much fun it is to kick his legs.  Here he is shaking and moving with some rattles on his feet....watch him go!

2 Month Well Check

Well Carter finally had his two month well check with the doctor this past Thursday.  (It was about 3 weeks late due to having RSV, which by the way he is cleared of and feeling much better.)   Heading into the appointment I think I was much more nervous than Carter was since I knew he would be getting his shots.  Carter was actually in good spirits as we sat in the waiting room.  He even did great being measured and weighed, usually he cries even at these activities.  Dr. B came in and checked him out, commented on how strong the little guy is, and then humored me by answering my list of questions.  Then it came time for his vaccinations, one oral and one in each leg.  Carter was having a great time lying on the table.  When he felt the first prick, he looked alarmed and the bottom lip began to protrude.  Then the second one came and his face turned Cardinal red.  The nurse quickly scooped him up and handed him over to me.  He maybe cried/whimpered for 30 seconds and then was fine.  By the time we left I guess he was so exhausted that he went straight to sleep in the car.  The rest of the afternoon was okay.  He was a little fussier than normal.  On the plus side he slept 11 hours straight last night and woke up in a good mood, so all is well again!

Little Stinker

The other night Kurt was upstairs giving Carter his bath.  I was downstairs cleaning up from dinner when I hear Kurt yelling, "Mama!"  I go upstairs to find that our little boy had made a stink in his bathtub after only being in it for a few minutes.  I grab a towel and Kurt hands wet Carter over to me so he can clean out the tub.  Carter just looks up at me with a facial expression saying, "What's the problem guys?"  He was so content.  After Kurt cleaned out the tub, I handed him back over.  I step out of the bathroom for maybe a minute or two when it happens again.  Yep, Carter had pooped twice in the bathtub!  So again I get the towel, Kurt hands him over and then cleans his tub.  Again Carter is looking up at me with wide eyes wondering why he is not in his bathtub.  While holding him we hear (and I feel) the dreaded noise.  Carter decided to finish the job in the bath towel.  What a little stinker!  Let's just say by this point Carter did not get his usual splash and playtime for fear we would have to clean the tub for a third time.

Third time's a charm.
Clean at last!

Welcome to our blog!!!!

After many recommendations, we have decided to start a family blog to keep our out of town family and friends up to date with our life here in Houston.  Hopefully we will find time between work and being new parents to make this worth while. :)  Be sure to check back from time to time.

Currently, we are in the middle of Carter's first illness.  The poor guy caught RSV, a respiratory virus, and has been fighting a nasty cough for almost a week now.  Luckily, as you can see below, he is still in good spirits despite not feeling his best.  Here he is today playing with Daddy.

He goes back to the doctor on Tuesday this week for another checkup and hopefully he will be feeling much better by then.
