Carter turned 7 months old on May 30th. I feel as though each month passes faster and faster, and that I just wrote a report about Carter at 6 months. Here are some updates about Carter at 7 months.
Food: Right now Carter is eating various foods. He has had (and enjoyed) sweet potato, carrots, squash, prunes, and pears. He does not care for peas and still not too sure if he has decided if he likes avocado. The avocado has to be pretty pureed for him to not make the gag face. Carter has to have prunes or pears everyday, otherwise let's just say it isn't pretty.
Playing: Carter loves playing on the floor, either rolling around between toys or sitting up with his treasures surrounding him. Right now his favorite toys are his Baby Einstein balls. He loves shaking, rolling, and transferring them back and forth between his hands. Just recently he has become interested in some shape blocks. Kurt and I started putting them in the red bucket that goes along with them and every time he will take the red bucket, turn it over, and dump out all the blocks. Also we noticed he likes the color blue. In fact we have even set up the all the different blocks and he typically goes for the blue cylinder one first. Carter also enjoys playing in his stationary jumper. The seat spins in a circle and he able to move himself around to the different toys on the jumper. He is also starting to get the hang of bending his knees to make himself bounce.
Activities: Carter enjoys going for walks. Almost every morning we take a walk around the neighborhood before the unbearable heat and humidity sets in. And since it is so hot down here, Carter has had his first swimming/pool experience. Once he adjusts to the temperature of the water, he really enjoys kicking and splashing in the pool. He mostly likes being held in the pool. So far he isn't as crazy about sitting the baby pool. I think it's because it reminds him of bath time and right now he is HATING bath time.
Sleeping: When it comes to sleeping Carter is like a yo-yo. He will have stretches of great sleeping and then he will do a 360 and act like he doesn't know to go to sleep. What an adventure!
Tricks: Carter is still not crawling, but we can tell he wants to. You can see in his eyes while he is watching other kids moving freely, thinking to himself, "Why can't I move like that?" While he is not crawling he is pushing himself up and sometimes getting his tooshie in the air. A few times we have noticed him move slightly backwards. Right now if he wants to get somewhere he will roll back and forth and pivot his body to position himself to his desired location.
Below are some random pictures of our little guy. Enjoy!
