10 Months

Carter turned 10 months on August 30th.  Two more months and our baby will be 1 year old!  Really?!?  How is this happening?

Food:  Carter loves his food.  He is still enjoying his fruits and veggies, however we are starting to introduce protein.  Really it has just been chicken but he seems to enjoy it.  The newest development in food is that he is starting to feed himself.  As mentioned in a previous post he has been pretty good at feeding himself things like puffs, crackers, and cheerios, however just in the last week or so he has started to pick food up from his tray and feed himself his veggies or chicken.  He's not quite good at it, but at least he's attempting the task.

Kinda a long video (Actually I'm not sure if any of these videos are going to upload correctly.)

Sleeping:  Sleeping at night is still going well. Yay!  We are even working on trying to get him to sleep a little later, closer to 6/7:00, which he is slowly doing.  Yay! Yay!  Naps still keep me guessing.  He is still taking a morning and afternoon nap however the lengths of each vary.  Those long morning naps he was taking a couple weeks ago have shortened a little bit.  His afternoon nap is interesting.  He'll sleep on his own for a little while and then want to be held and sleep some more.  I know I need to fix this but at the same I really enjoy our snuggles.

Activities:  Carter is on the move.  He army crawls like it's nobody's business!  He'll even crawl on all fours for a moment, but then falls to his belly because he can get there faster.  So for awhile I have been able to contain Carter in the family room on the area rug.  Recently he has discovered there is a world beyond the area rug.  It's pretty darn cute when I'm in the kitchen and I notice it's quieter than normal, only to discover our little guy moving around the sofas searching for new "toys" or Kurt or myself.  Carter is still pulling up on various toys, furniture, etc.  He is able to "walk" the sofa and loves his new "walker" from Aunt Joanie.  The walker is probably more exercise for Kurt and me than Carter, because we are having to spot him as cruises along the floor.  Carter loves his toys!  He especially loves stackable items.  In fact, we will stack his cups or bowls to make a tower and he will come belly crawling over to them just so he can knock them all down.

Talking: We are hearing more "mamas" and "dadas" these days, but he'll say it to anything.  He continues to grunt and growl and just babble.  He has such a sweet voice.

Some more pictures just for fun.

Happy 10 Month Carter boy!
